Where We Watch’s Official NFL Draft Drinking Game

Note: This is only suitable for Day One. We're crazy, but not that crazy.

As you know, the Where We Watch team loves us a good drinking game. And the summer presents many opportunities (I assume you've seen the Spelling Bee...), beginning with Thursday's NFL Draft. Think you can play with the big kids? Think again...

  1. Every drinker aligns with an NFL team and a college, both of which MUST be relevant in the first round of the draft. In an ideal world, you should align with your favorite team/alma mater. For those unluckier of us, whose alma mater/favorite college team is not relevant on draft day (read Navy) or favorite NFL team does not draft in the first round (read Da Bears), you should pick a team from a list of the most relevant and unclaimed.
  2. Once the draft starts the game plays out like a standard power hour/century club.  Everytime the clock on the TV reads :00, you take a shot of beer.  If the clock is not on the screen (during commercials and when draft picks are actually announced), breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy your break.  These breaks are the only thing that ensure your survival after the first couple picks.
  3. If a player from your college gets drafted or if your NFL team makes a pick, you take a doubleshot of beer.
  4. If you NFL team drafts a player from your college, you shotgun a beer.  (A six pack should be standing by for this eventuality).

By the time the Dolphins saunter up to their #12 pick around 10:30, consider yourself lucky if you're still standing strong. Last one standing, unless you're Brady Quinn, wins.
