The Central Storyline: Messi vs. Ronaldo
In the grand scheme of current American sports and the playoff rounds they are in, much focus is on the potential of a Kobe Bryant vs. LeBron James NBA Finals (as of immediately after Memorial Day, this does not seem the shoo-in it once was) and, to a lesser extent, a Sidney Crosby vs. Nicklas Lidstrom Stanley Cup Finals (the marquee individual matchup for the NHL happened in the Eastern semis, when Crosby --- and Evgeni Malkin's --- Penguins bounced Alexander Ovechkin's Capitals).

In the meantime, the Champions League final is also an epic individual showcase. Lionel Messi, for FC Barecelona, and Cristiano Ronaldo, for Manchester United, are generally considered two of the best four or five players in the world. We shall now commence with videotape evidence.

Messi has less of a problem with the "paps," but is arguably just as skilled of a soccer player. Check this:
That's a recently updated 10-minute rip of the best from the Argentine.
While the games of Kobe and LeBron are a little bit similar, Messi and Ronaldo are vastly different soccer players. The former relies on uncanny speed and playmaking ability; the latter relies on size, power, athleticism and a ridiculously accurate strike from almost anywhere.
As you're sitting at Stout, Nevada Smith's, Foley's NY, or another bar this site helped you direct yourself to, watch for the two superstars. Chances are you'll be saying both names quite a bit --- perhaps even at the conclusion of a thrilling finish.
