The Edumucation: November 7-8, 2009

CFB Lessons: Saturday, November 7, 2009

1. Nothing hath disrupted the Big 3: Still seems like Texas vs. the winner of Bama/UF is the national title game, no?

2. Iowa finally stopped being cardiac: Northwestern, no less. Kinda saw that coming, although not really.

3. OSU -- again: Another year, another (seemingly likely) Rose Bowl appearance. How does this keep happening?

4. Beware the trap game: Memo to the Oregon Ducks -- when basically every member of the national media says you're playing a trap game, pay attention.

5. U-Can't: Woulda been nice if UConn had knocked off Cincy and given a bit more clarity to those 4-8 slots.

NFL Lessons: Sunday, November 8, 2009

1. Saints, Saints, Saints: Not saying a comeback over the Panthers is a huge deal, but the fact that it was primarily defensively-led is pretty cool. They might be the absolute NFC favorite.

2. Miles Austin: Where did this dude come from? He is straight killing it.

3. Bungles no more: The Bengals might be the feel-good story of 2009. Cedric Benson deserves some type of massive award for his turnaround.

4. Put Coughlin on the hot seat: Super Bowl be damned, this four-game losing streak is a straight mess. Give the reins to Cowher! We're half-kidding.

5. Texans are close: Prediction for next year: with or without Gary Kubiak, everyone will forget about Houston because they've been the "it" team for so long... and suddenly they'll be 11-5. Boom, boom, pow.
