Three Horses to know for the Kentucky Derby

Wanna know the big storylines for Saturday's "greatest two minutes in sports"? Here are three horses you must know about:

Eskendereya- The horse Bob Baffert dubbed the Big Brown of 2010 wasn't just the Derby favorite coming into the final week, he is a descendent of racing royalty. Eskendereya is the grandson of Seattle Slew AND the great-great-grandson of Secretariat, two of the last three Triple Crown winners. The colt has been suffering from swelling in his left front leg and was regretfully pulled from the race this week, so it appears that trainer Todd Pletcher's winless streak is bound to continue.

Devil May Care- As WwW regulars noticed last year, we are partial to fancy fillies who like to run with the big boys. Eskendereya's premature exit this week opened the door for Pletcher's filly Devil May Care, jockied by John Velazquez, who was scheduled to ride Eskendereya. In the colt's place, Pletcher is hoping his little lady can follow in the footsteps of Rachel Alexandra or Zenyatta to end up in the circle of roses

Lookin at Lucky- Biggest winner in Eskendereya's early exit? Bob Baffert, whose colt was last year's Americas Champion two year old, only losing in the Breeder's Cup by a few feet. Baffert is a perenial contender in the Run of the Roses, so I'd expect to see Lookin at Lucky running among the favorites on Saturday afternoon.
