Where to Watch the NFL Playoffs

Where to Watch the NFL Playoffs

Under threat of a lockout next season, despite what Roger Goodell says, we need to enjoy the postseason twice as much this year. And who wouldn't, with stunners like the 7-9 Seahawks pushing their remarkable season into the playoffs? Sorry, that's the bitterness of a 10-6 late-folding Giants team missing the playoffs. There is plenty of excitement to be had in the coming weeks. The usual suspects (Patriots, Steelers) come in with their usual top seeded comfort, but the wild card teams are especially scrappy. This bracket screams for a sleeper to make a run and make everyone who made picks look like fools. Every single team is in it. Except the Seahawks. They blow.

So what better way to send the NFL season out than with a visit to the bar? Below we've compiled some of the best general NFL bars and their specials. If you are looking for a more specific crowd, click your team's name in the bracket below and find out where to watch with fans of your squad.

Where We're Watching

SNAP

SNAP

248 West 14th St. (Between 7th Ave and 8th Ave)

Although a newcomer to the Meat Packing District, SNAP is in the running for rookie of the year. If you are looking to bring a touch of class to the postseason(without sacrificing the booziness, of course) this is your spot. Their menu packed with the football classics, as well as some fare from across the pond. During the games they will also be offering Budweiser and Coors for $5 and pitchers for $15. Reservations are recommended if you want to watch the games at this beautiful venue.

Village Pourhouse - East Village

Village Pourhouse - East Village

64 Third Ave (Between 10th and 11th Street )

The Pourhouse earns it's name, being one of the better beer bars on the island. This East Village staple is offering their usual Sunday specials for the day games, $25 domestic buckets, $12 Bud Light pitchers and $5 Vision Bloody Marys. At night they go back normal pricing, but they will be auctioning off tickets to sporting events, memorabilia and even one of those giant iPhones (iPad.) This spot does fill up quickly though, so make your reservations as soon as you can.

Tonic East

Tonic East

411 Third Ave (Between 28th and 29th Street)

If not missing a play is your bag, Tonic East is your bar. Boasting 61 screens, 11 of them projection, there is no escaping the action. The specials are nothing to scoff at either; Coors and Budweiser for $3, $4 domestics and wells and $5 imports, Tonic is easy on the eyes and the wallet. They will also have brews running promotions all postseason. Call ahead, they are recommending reservations unless the Jets are playing, when they don't take them. I recommend that you get there early, as space will go quick. Plus, it never hurts to get a little saucy before kickoff.
