Where to Watch the French Open Finals in NYC
- By Cameron on Sunday, May 23, 2010

This year's tournament at Roland Garros has been heavy on the shakeups. Coming into the semifinals, both the men and the women have lost their one seeds. Federer was upset by French Open predator Robin Soderling and Serena was downed by Australian giant-killer Samantha Stosur.
In the men's draw, Robin Soderling, who has taken down Nadal and Federer in consecutive years, has locked down a spot in the semifinals. He will face a surprisingly sharp Tomas Berdych who finished Andy Murray in only three sets as well as John Isner and his blazing serve. Nadal rolled through his quarterfinal match and will face Justin Melzer, who shocked Djokovic in the quarters after being down two sets.
On the women's side, Aussie Samatha Stosur upset both Justine Henin and Serena Williams on the way to the semis. She battle Jelena Jankovic, who has rolled through the tournament relatively unchallenged; her toughest opponent being 23 seed Danielle Hantuchova. Francesca Schiavone, the Italian who generally plays better on clay, will have her hands full with 5 seed Elena Dementieva.
With a field this unpredictable, the last few rounds will almost undoubtedly follow suit. I'd be sure to hunker down at the bar and catch it.

There are a lot of reasons why we love Playwright's Irish Pub - convenient location, authentic pub ambience and great beer selection. But none more than their appreciation of enjoying a great sporting event in a great bar. For the men's final at Roland Garros, John's offering up $3.50 drafts and $8 Irish breakfast. Introduce yourself, make yourself comfortable. I'm certain you'll be back for the World Cup.
