Soldier McGee
This unassuming corner bar in the thick of UWS busiest bar street is packed with bar must-haves: a pool table, a Touchtunes jukebox, eight 50-inch TVs and fairly cheap craft beer and a thorough bar menu. But the biggest advantages of the joint might be two-fold: (1) it's still pretty new and happily low-profile, so it doesn't get insanely packed like its Amsterdam bretheren and (2) the owner is more than willing to engage in a wide range of discussions - including the best children's book of all-time. We did (have you ever read Five Chinese Brothers?) and weren't disappointed. You won't be either.
