2009 College World Series
If you are like some of us at Where We Watch, you enjoy the earnest passion and excitment that can only be found in college sports. As our friend Cameron points out, for some of these guys, its their last shot at the big leagues. For others, a final swing at the plate before the realities of adulthood set in. But I digress.
The 2009 College World Series is underway and in a summer of David vs. Goliath match-ups, the baseball classic is no exception. The super-regional champions started with four teams with over four CWS titles - 1-seed Texas (with 6), Cal State Fullerton, LSU and Arizona State; two sports giants - Arkansas and North Carolina and two teams making their first CWS appearances - Virginia and Southern Mississippi.
And now we're down to the home stretch with two baseball powerhouses - Texas vs. LSU. And even if you prefer pigskin to pinstripes, these last few games of the college baseball season are bound to be ripe with classic moments. We'll be watching. Will you?
Finals - Monday, June 22, 6pm; Tuesday, June 23, 6pm; Wednesday, June 24 (if necessary)
