2009 NBA Finals
This likely wasn't the NBA Finals matchup you were hoping for (Lebron FAIL), but it'll be more than enough excuse to hit the bars with your friends. Call it what you will – David vs. Goliath, the ex-Shaq finals, the Disney series – but this year’s NBA Finals pits one of the most storied franchises in sports vs. a scrappy band of stars making their second Finals appearance in franchise history.
The Los Angeles Lakers are heading to the Finals for a league record 30th appearance -- their 6th in this decade! -- and Kobe Bryant and Conference Finals star Lamar Odom are eager to redeem themselves after last year’s disappointing loss to the Celtics. The Orlando Magic are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their franchise and Dwight Howard and the gang are ready to play spoiler once more after beating the defending champion Celtics and the Eastern Conference 1 seed Cavaliers.
The series begins in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 4 at 9:00pm and continues on Sunday, June 7 at 8:00pm, Tuesday, June 9 at 9:00pm and Thursday, June 11 at 9:00pm. We’ll be watching. Will you?
